Rhinephyllum Muirii is a miniature, perennial, flowering mesemb forming clumps of many shoots. The leaves are inclined, up to 1 inch long, up to 0.4 inches wide, green but reddening in full sun and during cold weather with small whitish tubercles in the upper half, margins and keel with a white cartilaginous edge. The flowers are solitary and apical on a short pedicel, yellowish-white, up to 0.5 inches long, up to 0.6 inches across and open at night.
Rhinephyllum Muirii prefers free-draining soil, plenty of sun and ventilation, and regular light watering in the right season.
Mesembs require a loam-based compost with the addition of extra drainage material such as horticultural grit or perlite. They all like good light conditions and plenty of ventilation.
It is suitable for Container, Rock Garden & Xeriscaping.
As a general rule of thumb, all the ones with colourful leaves like Echeverias, Sedeveria and Graptopetalum like bright sunlight and semi shade in extreme summers. They cannot be kept indoors or in full shade. All succulents love morning sun.
You can fertilise your succulent once a month.
Watering tips : Make sure NOT to water on the plant itself. Water directly in the soil. You can use a cup or a glass to make sure the water does not spray on leaves. When watering, make sure water comes out of the drainage hole.
