Description
Ficus Elastica 'Belize' or 'Red Ruby' is a greatly eye-catching house plant which has most unusual new growth. The new foliage emerges with a vibrant pinky red tone which adds impact to the variations of cream and green. As the foliage ages the colours mellow to a variegated leaf which is attractive in its own right.
Ficus elastica 'Belize' grows upright, well-branched and can reach an average height of 0.6 m - 1.8 m and a spread of 0.6 m - 1 m breit.
Environment
Ficus plant needs a moderate amount of light but not in full sun with moderate watering. For indoor plants, care should be taken not to over water, otherwise leaf drop and possibly root rot will occur. Allow the soil to dry between watering. Light levels, watering and humidity should be kept as constant as possible to avoid leaf drop. Make sure you provide for high humidity level for your plants, spray them regularly using softened water in hot weather
Feed all Ficus houseplants when they are actively growing with a well balanced plant food diluted to 1/2 the recommended strength. Never feed a Ficus Tree in the winter.
Avoid placing a Belize Ficus Tree near an air conditioner, heater, or any cold drafts from windows and doors.
