Description

Pellionia repens or Procris repens is a small herbaceous creeper that can reach 15 cm in height and 60 cm in length. Its leaves have toothed edges and are usually 2.5 to 10 cm in length and 2 to 5 cm in width. Its distinctive leaves have a pattern that resembles watermelon rinds or the foliage of certain Begonia species and may fade to completely purple or brown with age.

The flowers of Pellionia are white globules held on stalks above the plant, which respond to changes in temperature by releasing their pollen as little puffs of smoke

Environment

Pellionia repens is pretty forgiving when it comes to lighting, but it’ll do best under bright, indirect light. Definitely one to keep out of direct sunlight through.

Make sure watering is done once the soil goes dry. Although the soil can remain moist, but it should not turn soggy/wet. Having drainage hole in the pots goes a long way in ensuring there is no water stagnating on top of the soil. You can spray the plant occasionally.

Fertilise the plant once a month in summers however Don't feed any fertiliser in winters. Giving fertiliser to the plant ensures nutrients going in which keeps it healthy. Keep an eye on the leaves of the plant to know any symptoms for watering or sunlight.
