Product Description

Canna Orange Beauty produces huge orange flowers, often adorned with faint golden-yellow streaking in the fluted petals.

Rich Orange Flowers with Golden-Yellow Petal Markings

Canna Lily Orange Beauty is a classic tropical perennial from the Cannaceae family, admired for its large, warm-coloured flowers and lush ornamental foliage. This vigorous rhizomatous variety produces upright flowering stems that rise above its broad green leaves, creating a strong tropical presence in the garden. Its bold flowers and heat-loving nature make it particularly suitable for sunny landscapes and large decorative containers.

Orange Beauty produces generous clusters of large rich orange flowers, with delicate golden-yellow streaking visible across the fluted petals. The warm colour combination gives each bloom a lively, glowing appearance and creates an attractive focal point when the plants are grown in groups. Flowering extends from April to July in the plains and from May to August in hilly regions. Plant the rhizomes between January and March in the plains or February and April in hilly regions for a vibrant summer display.

Environment

Sunlight: Grow in full sun for strong growth and abundant flowering. Choose a bright, open position where the plant receives several hours of direct sunlight each day.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist during active growth and flowering. Water thoroughly when the growing medium begins to dry, while ensuring that excess water drains away freely.

Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or other organic matter. A rich growing medium encourages healthy rhizome development and vigorous foliage.

Fertilizer: Apply a slow-release fertilizer at planting and feed periodically during the growing season. Regular nutrition supports strong foliage and continued flower production.

Landscape Uses

  • Creates a vibrant focal point with its rich orange and golden-marked flowers.
  • Ideal for sunny garden borders and tropical-style flower beds.
  • Well suited to large containers on patios and terraces.
  • Looks particularly attractive when planted in groups for a mass of warm colour.
  • Combines well with green foliage plants, ornamental grasses, and other summer-flowering varieties.

Flowering plants need access to bright sunlight to remain healthy and blooming. An easy facing balcony is the best place for the plants in Indian conditions. Try keeping them in bright sunlight but also where they get a little cover from the harsh afternoon sun. Some plants which are a little tender tend to burn due to the same.

Plants with thin leaves need daily watering and ones with thick leaves need watering 3-4 times a week. This will also depend on the season. Generally during the blooming period, plants love a lot of water. Try keeping the soil moist. During winters it is better to cut back on watering.

Keep the plants in a well drained soil with a drainage hole at the bottom. This will help to avoid over watering. Take care as to not leave stagnant water on top of the soil. Fertilise the plant once in 2-3 weeks during its blooming period. Do not fertilise it in winters.
