The Cryptanthus acaulis is characterized by wavy and slightly leaves thorny margins. It is small in size, not exceeding 15 cm in height. Bright, diffused light (not direct sun) is needed to bring out maximum color in most Cryptanthus.

Cryptanthus Acaulis Var. Ruber is a compact tropical bromeliad from Brazil known for its striking purple-tinted, wavy leaves with silvery undersides. Growing up to 15 cm tall, this colourful Earth Star plant is perfect for terrariums, tabletops, containers, and mixed indoor gardens.

Care & Growing Needs:
Thrives in bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant colour. Prefers a warm, humid environment with lightly moist, well-drained soil—avoid overwatering. Use a moisture-retentive mix and feed occasionally with a slow-release fertilizer free from copper and boron.

Bromeliads add an exotic tough to your home with its beautiful coloured foliage. The unusual appearance of Bromeliad makes it is seem it is a high maintenance plant, however it is not!

Bromeliads required medium to bright light. They are happy in a shaded area or with filtered light as well. Make sure not to expose bromeliads to harsh afternoon sun as their leaves are a little delicate and tend to get burns.

Bromeliads do well in shallow pots and moist soil. Make sure not to over water your bromeliad as it can lead to root rot. A drainage hole in your pot will go a long way to ensure drainage of excess water from the pot.
