Coronet Mix – Fringed dianthus blooms for winter beds & borders
Family
Caryophyllaceae
Dianthus 'Coronet Mix' is a remarkable hybrid featuring vibrant, oversized flowers and a compact, mounded growth habit. Its early and persistent blooming period makes it a favorite among pollinators such as bees and butterflies. With a plant height of 20-25 cm (8-10 inches) and a spread of 15-20 cm (6-8 inches), this chinensis type boasts impressive flower sizes of 5-6 cm in diameter.
Environment
For optimal growth, Dianthus prefers full sun or partial shade. When planting, use well-draining, moderately fertile soil, and keep plants 8-10" (20-25cm) apart. Water moderately and avoid overwatering. During bloom season, apply a balanced fertilizer every 2-3 weeks. To encourage continuous blooming, regularly remove dead blooms. For denser foliage, pinch young plants.
Landscape
Ideal for borders, pots, window boxes, and edging.
