Gazenia, also referred to as the Treasure Flower, is a robust and dazzling flowering plant that thrives in the warm Indian climate. Its striking color combinations have made it a beloved option for gardens.

Gazania New Day Tiger Mix is a stunning hybrid in the Gazania rigens family known for its bold, striped petals and vibrant colors., known for Daisy-like, bi-colored petals with a bold “tiger” stripe pattern blooms in a range of colors such as yellow, orange, red, cream, and burgundy. This particular breed is specially developed for larger flowers, improved uniformity, and extended blooming, making it an ideal choice for Indian gardens.

The plant can grow up to a height of 8-10 inches and boasts 3-4 inch diameter flowers with its signature cheerful yellow centers, intricate petaloids, and stunning color variations. Additionally, Gazenia attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies, making it a favorite among gardeners.

Environment

Keep your Gazenia Sunshine Mix Flower Seeds well-drained and in full sunlight. They prefer neutral to slightly acidic soil and thrive in hot summer temperatures. For optimal air circulation, space plants 20-30 cm apart. Avoid over-watering or providing too much shade, as this may hinder flowering and cause root rot. Use a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the blooming period and regularly remove dead flowers to promote more blooms.

Landscape

Upright plants are excellent for the rock garden or containers with larger flowers and robust growth.

Make sure your seedling tray or pot (whichever you choose) has a drainage hole in it. If you choose a pot, a 5€ pot should be fine. You can either use well drained soil or make a combination of 1 part each of cocopeat, vermiculite and perlite.

While sowing seeds make sure the soil is damp and not wet. Water the seeds as the soil starts to dry. It should always be moist, but never wet or muddy. Do not water the seeds if the soil is already moist to the touch, as overwatering your plant can be just as harmful as underwatering.

Keep the seedling tray in bright filtered light to begin with. Slowly introduce the plant to morning sun and bring it back in before the afternoon sun sets in. In a weeks time you can put it in direct sunlight.
