Product Description

A rare collector Hoya from Borneo with attractive glossy foliage and a graceful vining habit. Perfect for hanging baskets, trellises, and indoor plant collections.

Gunung Gading Wax Plant

Hoya 'Gunung Gading' is a rare tropical epiphytic plant belonging to the Apocynaceae family and native to Borneo. It is prized for its attractive deep green foliage, vigorous vining growth habit, and clusters of creamy white to pale pink waxy flowers that appear during the warmer months. The thick leaves and elegant trailing stems make it a highly desirable addition to indoor plant collections.

Like many Hoyas, Gunung Gading is relatively easy to grow and rewards proper care with lush growth and ornamental blooms from spring through summer. Its cascading vines make it an excellent choice for hanging baskets, wall planters, trellises, and tropical indoor displays.

Environment

Hoya Gunung Gading thrives in bright indirect light and warm, humid conditions. It prefers a loose, well-draining growing medium with excellent aeration, similar to its natural epiphytic habitat. Allow the growing medium to dry slightly between waterings and avoid prolonged waterlogging. Higher humidity levels and good air circulation encourage healthy growth and flowering.

Landscape Uses

Ideal for hanging baskets, indoor plant displays, balconies, vertical gardens, trellises, plant shelves, and tropical plant collections. Its trailing vines and attractive foliage make it a beautiful feature plant for homes, offices, and shaded outdoor spaces.

Hoyas are one of the easiest vines to take care of. Their needs are little and in the case of Hoya - less is more!

Hoyas like medium to bright indirect light. It detests direct sunlight and dark corners!

Hoya plants are very sensitive to over watering. To avoid this always keep a Hoya in a pot with a drainage hole. Use well drained soil or coco peat and perlite mix to make sure the excess water gets drained out. Water the Hoya only when the soil is completely dry. If it is moist you can let it be for a couple of days before checking on it again. It is better to under water than over water your Hoya plant!

Don't cut the long tendrils of your Hoya as the leaves and flowers develop from these!
