Description
The Hoya Incurvula plant produces small, star-shaped flowers with a distinctive inward-cupping appearance. The petals are typically a soft pink or beige, while the corona is dark maroon or deep reddish-purple in color.
These flowers have a slightly fuzzy or velvety texture, creating an overall soft look. They are arranged in tight, spherical umbels with 20-30+ flowers per cluster and have a sweet caramel-like fragrance. Each flower measures up to 4mm in diameter and has a yellow-centered red corona. The plant's light green, velvety leaves are either round or ovate in shape and reach up to 5cm x 3cm in size.
In warmer climates, it blooms from spring to late summer, and in consistently humid, tropical conditions, it can even flower year-round.
Environment
Easy to grow & don't require much attention. Hoya do best in filtered light or with lots of artificial light in indoors.
Hoya plants don't ask for much, beyond the well-draining soil and the warm humid conditions ((similar to bromeliads and orchids)
They are epyphite, can be grown in orchid medium or light potting mix with lots of bark conditioner. Hoya like the security of a snug pot, and plants that are a bit root bound will flower more prolifically than those that are swimming around in a giant pot.
This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds .
Landscape Use
It makes a nice hanging basket, but also does really well as a mounted plant
