Description

Naumanii is a very fast growing and easy to care for hoya and it needs a large hoop/support from the beginning. The leaves are light green with visible veins. The leaves are 6-12 cm long and 4-7 cm wide and new leaves are often red/brown when young, just like Hoya australis and this is said to be part of the australis complex.

Hoya Naumanii flowers are really beautiful and have the resemblance to australis. They are almost flat and about 2.5 cm in diameter. The corolla is white and pink with more pink under the corona which is white with a pink center. The fragrance is quite sweet and the flowers last a litte more than one week.. 

Environment

Easy to grow & don't require much attention. Hoya do best in filtered light or with lots of artificial light in indoors. This hoya loves heat and if it's grown in much sun the leaves get even lighter and can also get a bit yellow, but it seems this hoya needs a lot of sun to bloom. 

Hoya plants don't ask for much, beyond the well-draining soil and the warm humid conditions (similar to bromeliads and orchids)

They are epyphite, can be grown in orchid medium or light potting mix with lots of bark conditioner. Hoya like the security of a snug pot, and plants that are a bit root bound will flower more prolifically than those that are swimming around in a giant pot.

This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds .

Landscape Use

It makes a nice hanging basket, but also does really well as a mounted plant
