Marigold, a popular annual flower, is renowned for its bright and vibrant blooms, easy care, and ability to act as a natural pest repellent in gardens. The new Marvel Orange Marigold boasts improved branching, earliness, and flower size, as well as a bright orange color. It maintains its uniformity under both short and long days and has sturdy, wind-resistant stems. As part of the taller African Marigold series, it stands approximately 20% taller than the Inca Series.

Environment

Marigolds are heat-loving plants that are easily grown in full sun (at least 6 hours of sunlight daily) in moderately fertile, dry to moist, well-drained soils.
Some light afternoon shade prolongs their blooms in hot summer areas.
Tall varieties should be planted in locations sheltered from strong winds and heavy rains. These taller varieties may also require some light staking for support. Marigolds are adaptable to poor soils, heat, humidity, and especially drought.
Surrounding your Marigolds with a succession of flowers will reinforce the beauty of their blooms and extend the season of interest in your landscape.

Landscape

They work well as bedding plants in mixed borders, as edging plants, and in patio containers.

Make sure your seedling tray or pot (whichever you choose) has a drainage hole in it. If you choose a pot, a 5€ pot should be fine. You can either use well drained soil or make a combination of 1 part each of cocopeat, vermiculite and perlite.

While sowing seeds make sure the soil is damp and not wet. Water the seeds as the soil starts to dry. It should always be moist, but never wet or muddy. Do not water the seeds if the soil is already moist to the touch, as overwatering your plant can be just as harmful as underwatering.

Keep the seedling tray in bright filtered light to begin with. Slowly introduce the plant to morning sun and bring it back in before the afternoon sun sets in. In a weeks time you can put it in direct sunlight.
