Description
Green Ruffles' Basil is a tender low-growing herb that is grown as a perennial in warm, tropical climates. This is the traditional large-leaf variety that's tender, aromatic, and mild-flavored. Great for fresh use and drying. Preferred culinary variety..
Environment
Growing basil is easy. Give it plenty of sun, moderately good soil and regular water, and as long as it™s warm, basil thrives. It needs good drainage and abundant organic matter to thrive.
Basil growing indoors requires at least six hours of sunlight. Basil plants should be placed in a sunny window, preferably facing south. Otherwise, these potted plants may need to be grown under fluorescent lights.
The plant is not tolerant of water stress, make sure pots provide adequate drainage. While the soil should be kept somewhat moist, it should never be soggy; otherwise, the roots will be prone to rotting.
