Fiery Orange Blooms with a Golden Yellow Centre
Rain Lily 'Tangerine Dream' is an attractive flowering bulb belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family and native to the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas. This beautiful Zephyranthes variety is admired for its compact, clump-forming growth habit and slender, grass-like green foliage. Its distinctive star-shaped flowers feature elongated, pointed petals in warm orange-red to coral-orange shades, creating a striking display against the green foliage.
Tangerine Dream produces eye-catching flowers with subtle lighter streaks and delicate variations in orange and red across the petals. The vibrant blooms are highlighted by a brilliant golden-yellow centre that gradually blends into the surrounding petals, giving each flower a warm, glowing appearance. Growing approximately 15–25 cm in height with a spread of 10–15 cm, this compact variety adds a splash of tropical colour to gardens, balconies and patios. Its colourful flowers and neat foliage make it particularly attractive for growing in decorative pots, borders and grouped plantings.
Environment
Sunlight: Thrives in full sun to partial shade. At least 4–6 hours of direct sunlight daily promotes healthy growth and abundant flowering.
Watering: Water moderately during active growth, allowing the soil to drain well between watering. Reduce watering once the foliage naturally enters dormancy.
Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Avoid prolonged waterlogging to maintain healthy bulbs.
Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season with a balanced flowering fertilizer to encourage vigorous growth and repeat blooms.
