Tabebuia rosea, commonly known as the Rosy Trumpet Tree, belongs to the Bignoniaceae family and is native to Tropical America. This fast-growing ornamental tree is admired for its spectacular display of rosy-pink, trumpet-shaped flowers, which cover the branches when the tree is nearly leafless.
The tree develops a broad, spreading canopy with attractive palmately compound leaves, making it an excellent shade and avenue tree. During the flowering season, the mass of pink blooms creates a striking landscape effect, often compared to cherry blossom displays.
Flower Colour & Blooming
Large trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of rosy pink to pale pink appear mainly from January to April under Indian growing conditions. The blooms are produced abundantly on nearly leafless branches, creating a spectacular seasonal display.
Growing Conditions
Tabebuia rosea thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. It adapts well to tropical and subtropical climates and becomes moderately drought tolerant once established. Regular watering during the establishment phase encourages healthy and vigorous growth.
