Russelia equisetiformis - Red Coral Plant
Russelia equisetiformis 'Red' , native to Mexico south to Guatemala of Scrophulariaceae family , a red-flowering cultivar of the common Firecracker Plant or Coral Fountain, featuring bright yellow tubular flowers rather than the typical red.. The plant have Rush-like arching branches to 4-5 ft. long, with leaves that have been reduced to very small ovate leaflets. In spring and summer, the tips of the branches are graced with bright red tubular flowers. Flowering can occur any time of the year, but the flower buds drop off if temperatures are too cool.
This low‑maintenance plant attracts butterflies and sunbirds, adding vibrant color and movement to outdoor spaces.
