Description
Setiechinopsis Mirabilis or also called 'The Flower of Prayer' is usually a very small cactus and among the easiest species to grow. The plants most notable features are the tall erected stem that is mostly green covered with short dark spines. This cactus is cultivated for its flowers and is among the easiest species to grow, flower and propagate. Stems are Dark brown, cylindrical and can grow taller than 15 cm, 2.5 cm in diameter.
Mirabilis blooms at night with its huge white flowers which are strongly scented. The blooms open at sun set and last only a few hours.The plants may begin to flower in their second year.
It is a short-lived cactus & can be easily grown from seed or propagated by grafting, offsets.
Environment
Echinopsis Mirabilis ‘Flower Of Prayer’ succulents need strong light. When planting this succulent type in a garden, make sure it gets sunlight. Full to partial sun is the best for its growth. It is better to grow outdoor rather than indoor. Setiechinopsis Mirabilis prefers a warm climate. In a cold region, it is better to plant Flower of Prayer in an indoor environment. As long as it gets enough sunlight, the plant will grow happily.
Like many cacti, they prefer a drying period between waterings, even to the point where they slightly wilt. When you water, however, you should water deeply.
