Description

Sky Blue Cluster vine is a fast growing, twining vine, with stems to 6 feet or more in length. The small ultramarine, white throated flowers is the reflection of a clear blue summer sky. Flowers open facing the sun in the early morning and are gone by midday. Like magic the next morning they make another mass appearance. On overcast rainy days the flowers don't open but generally appear in the dry, sunny season in the tropics.

Environment

The Jacquemontia pentantha requires partial to full sun; well drained soil; water moderately. It grows well either in a pot or in the ground. Just give it some support and the vine will twine happily over the fence, trellis or other plants.

Ideal to cover a fence or pergola.

Flowering plants need access to bright sunlight to remain healthy and blooming. An easy facing balcony is the best place for the plants in Indian conditions. Try keeping them in bright sunlight but also where they get a little cover from the harsh afternoon sun. Some plants which are a little tender tend to burn due to the same.

Plants with thin leaves need daily watering and ones with thick leaves need watering 3-4 times a week. This will also depend on the season. Generally during the blooming period, plants love a lot of water. Try keeping the soil moist. During winters it is better to cut back on watering.

Keep the plants in a well drained soil with a drainage hole at the bottom. This will help to avoid over watering. Take care as to not leave stagnant water on top of the soil. Fertilise the plant once in 2-3 weeks during its blooming period. Do not fertilise it in winters.

received my plant 2 days back, at first it was little dried but took care of it as per your instruction and it revieved with in a week and it bloomed a new flower too which is lovely, than you my bageecha.
