Product Description

A floriferous Swazicum Hybrid Adenium producing clusters of velvety crimson-red flowers with a dark throat and an attractive sculptural caudex.

Deep Crimson-Red Blooms with a Dark Velvety Throat

Swazicum Hybrid 'Crimson Cascade' is a premium Desert Rose cultivar developed from select crosses between Adenium obesum and Adenium swazicum. Belonging to the Apocynaceae family and originating from the arid regions of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, this hybrid combines the compact growth habit and prolific flowering nature of Swazicum with the larger blooms and ornamental appeal of Obesum hybrids.

This striking variety is admired for its clusters of deep crimson-red flowers with a velvety texture and rich saturated colour. Each bloom features a darker maroon throat that enhances the intensity of the flower, creating a dramatic contrast against the glossy green foliage. The attractive caudex, compact branching habit, and repeated flushes of flowers throughout the warm season make Crimson Cascade a prized addition to Adenium collections and decorative container displays.

Environment

Sunlight: Requires full sun to bright direct light for vigorous growth and abundant flowering.

Watering: Water thoroughly when the growing medium begins to dry. Avoid prolonged waterlogging and ensure excellent drainage.

Soil: Prefers a fast-draining mix containing coarse sand, coco peat, and perlite.

Fertilizer: Feed every 2–4 weeks during active growth with a balanced flowering fertilizer to encourage continuous blooming and caudex development.

Landscape Uses

  • Excellent specimen plant for decorative pots and planters.
  • Ideal for bonsai-style cultivation and caudex displays.
  • Adds vibrant colour to balconies, patios, and terraces.
  • Suitable for succulent gardens and drought-tolerant landscapes.
  • A prized choice for Adenium collectors and flowering plant enthusiasts.

Adeniums are one of the easiest to grow and most rewarding of the fat plants (caudiciforms). Their adaptability to a broad range of conditions makes them forgiving of less than ideal care. This attribute enables just about anyone to grow and bloom them despite individual climate.

Adeniums need bright sunlight to have a robust growth. Water adeniums in the early mornings and give them the entire day to soak it in. Watering can be once in a few days. Adeniums do not like both over-watering and complete drying out. Add Pebbles or Stones in the pot€™s bottom to ensure good drainage. Never let water stagnate on top of the soil layer as this can cause excessive water getting soaked in the stem. Use fertiliser once a month for getting a fatter trunk and increase in flowering.

Pruning time for adeniums is in the summer, where they can heal quickly from the wounds. Pruning is mainly to give adenium a proper shape or to turn it into a Bonsai.
