Vivid Magenta Blooms with Compact Swazicum Charm
Swazicum Hybrid 'Miss India' is a vibrant Desert Rose cultivar developed from selected crosses involving Adenium swazicum and Adenium obesum. Belonging to the Apocynaceae family and originating from the arid regions of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, this hybrid combines the free-flowering nature of Swazicum Adeniums with the robust growth and ornamental appeal of Obesum hybrids.
The plant produces masses of brilliant magenta-pink flowers with a deep crimson throat that create a spectacular display over an extended flowering season. Its compact growth habit, narrow foliage, and profuse blooming make it particularly attractive for containers and small garden spaces. During peak flowering, the plant becomes almost completely covered in blooms, transforming into a striking cloud of vivid pink colour. The elegant caudex and branching structure further enhance its ornamental value, making Miss India an excellent choice for collectors and flowering plant enthusiasts.
Environment
Sunlight: Thrives in full sun and requires at least 5–6 hours of direct sunlight daily for abundant flowering and compact growth.
Watering: Water thoroughly when the growing medium becomes slightly dry. Avoid prolonged waterlogging and ensure excellent drainage at all times.
Soil: Prefers a fast-draining succulent mix containing coarse sand, coco peat, perlite, or pumice.
Fertilizer: Feed every 2–4 weeks during the active growing season with a balanced flowering fertilizer to encourage continuous blooming and healthy caudex development.
