Step 1: Place both soil cakes in a small bucket and pour about 750mL of water. Let the water soak for 15 minutes. Add more water if needed and loosen any lumps with your hands.

Step 2: Spread the soil in the jute grow-trays and gently flatten & smooth out the surface.

Step 3: - Sprinkle the seeds onto the soil and spread them evenly throughout. The beetroot seeds should be slightly covered with soil taking care not to bury them too deep.

      Notes

      • The jute grow-trays are reusable and 100% compostable. To grow another batch of greens, simply add new soil & seeds and start the growing process asdescribed above. Alternatively, you can clear the remaining soil from the trays and use them for household storage or any way you’d like. You can also choose to compost the soil and trays when you are ready.

      Tutorial

        Germination:
Initially keeping your microgreens in darkness by covering them with a thick paper or plate will encourage them to grow taller. We suggest keeping them away from light until they grow to around 2-3 cms in height. Once they reach this height place them by a windowsill, on the kitchen counter, or any well-lit place until they are ready to harvest.

        Watering:
Water your seeds once or twice a day with the sprayer just enough to keep the soil moist at all times.

        Harvesting:
When the microgreens are tall with bright, open leaves, they are ready to harvest. Use the trimmers to cut the stems just above the soil, wash thoroughly, and enjoy!

        Storing
Microgreens deliver their highest levels of enzymes and nutrients when they are eaten immediately after harvesting. If storing is necessary, make sure they are dry and stored in an airtight container. When stored properly, your microgreens should last up to one week in the refrigerator.
