Description

Polyalthia Longifolia is commonly known as Asopalav. Glossy green, long, narrow leaves have attractive wavy edges. The weeping, branching habit of this 25-foot tall tree gives it a narrow columnar shape. Very graceful with its downward-sweeping branchlets and shining green foliage. Flowers appear during March and April, for a short period two or three weeks only.

Environment

Polyalthia Longifolia can be grown easily from seed or cuttings. It is a fast-growing tree and requires good exposure to sunlight and moderate watering. Evergreen bloomers no particular time period.

Landscape Uses

It is usually used as boundary borders.

Trees need to be planted in full sun. Make sure there is no sudden change in temperature. Keep it in semi sunlight for a week before introducing the plant to direct sunlight.

In a pot, you will need to water the plant everyday during the summers and can cut down a bit during winters. Make sure this has a drainage hole at the bottom. For trees planted directly in the garden, you an water it once in 2-3 days for it to develop strong roots. Fertilise in the summer season only.
