Cosmos bipinnatus

Description

Create a vibrant garden with Cosmos Apollo Mix Flower Seeds and enjoy a beautiful array of flowers. The flowers are primarily white and light pink, typical of the Apollo series. Each flower has a bright yellow center.

These dwarf plants have feathery, fern-like foliage and produce 4-inch (10-cm) daisy-shaped flowers in bright colors. The petals are broad, slightly overlapping, and have a soft, delicate appearance. They bloom from early summer to fall, attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies.

Cosmos Apollo plants are generally compact compared to other cosmos varieties, often growing to about 18-24 inches (45-60 cm) in height.

Environment
Optimal conditions for growing these flowers include full sun for at least 6 hours per day, though they can still tolerate partial shade. Space plants 12–15 inches (30–38 cm) apart and remove spent flowers regularly. Additionally, trimming stem tips can encourage bushier growth.
The soil must be well-draining, but these flowers are not picky about soil quality and can thrive even in poor conditions.
Avoid over-fertilizing as it can lead to fewer flowers and more foliage. Water moderately, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out in between waterings and avoiding overhead watering to prevent mildew.

Landscape:

Excellent for garden beds, borders, and containers due to their compact size and long blooming season.

Make sure your seedling tray or pot (whichever you choose) has a drainage hole in it. If you choose a pot, a 5€ pot should be fine. You can either use well drained soil or make a combination of 1 part each of cocopeat, vermiculite and perlite.

While sowing seeds make sure the soil is damp and not wet. Water the seeds as the soil starts to dry. It should always be moist, but never wet or muddy. Do not water the seeds if the soil is already moist to the touch, as overwatering your plant can be just as harmful as underwatering.

Keep the seedling tray in bright filtered light to begin with. Slowly introduce the plant to morning sun and bring it back in before the afternoon sun sets in. In a weeks time you can put it in direct sunlight.
