Description

Dieffenbachia 'Camille' has glossy, dark green leaves and a bright, clear mottled yellow center. It will grow from 90-180 cm tall and 30-100 cm wide,

It is a perennial herbaceous plant, with stems eruded and fleshy, that is cultivated by its decorative leaves. This plant is pretty versatile at different life stages, but can last very long-term as an attractive house plant that grows into more of a tree form.

Flowers are borne on erect spikes, these are surrounded by cream-green spathes and may appear at any time of year.

NASA tests confirm that Dieffenbachia removes xylene and toluene from the air.

Environment

Dieffenbachia, most varieties do best in a filtered light situation. When this houseplant is producing new, tender leaves, they are subject to sunburn if the light is too bright or shines directly on the plant. Rotate the dieffenbachia houseplant regularly to provide adequate light to all sides of the plant and prevent it from reaching toward the light on one side.

Plant the dumbcane in a well-draining soil and water lightly, keeping the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Check the soil to make sure it is dry an inch down before watering the plant.

Fertilize twice a month to encourage growth and a healthy plant.

Landscape Use

Suitable for interior decoration in home & Office space

Note

Avoid placing the dumbcane plant where curious children or pets might be tempted to taste it.

Foliage plants in general need access to bright indirect sunlight. Avoid keeping them in direct sunlight as it can cause leaves to burn due to extreme sunlight in the afternoon.

Make sure watering is done once the soil goes dry. Although the soil can remain moist, but it should not turn soggy/wet. Having drainage hole in the pots goes a long way in ensuring there is no water stagnating on top of the soil. You can spray the plant occasionally.

Fertilise the plant once a month in summers however Don't feed any fertiliser in winters. Giving fertiliser to the plant ensures nutrients going in which keeps it healthy. Keep an eye on the leaves of the plant to know any symptoms for watering or sunlight.
