G9 Banana - Grand Nain Tissue Culture Plant

Grand Nain Banana Tissue Culture Plant belongs to the Musa acuminata family and represents a premium G9 Cavendish cultivar originating from Israel. This high-performance variety reaches 6.5 to 7.5 feet in mature height and delivers substantial yields with harvestable bunches appearing within 11-12 months of planting. The fruit offers superior taste and extended shelf life compared to traditional Indian varieties, making it commercially attractive. For optimal cultivation, space plants at 6 x 6 feet intervals, accommodating approximately 1200 plants per acre. Ideal for both commercial and home gardeners seeking reliable production and quality fruit.

Environment

Banana is basically a tropical crop, grows well in varied temperature ranging from humid tropical to dry mild subtropics through selection of appropriate varieties like Grand Naine. It is a moisture- and heat-loving plant and cannot tolerate frost or arid conditions.

Deep, rich loamy soil with pH between 6-7.5 are most preferred for banana cultivation. Inadequate drained, poorly aerated and nutritionally deficient soils are not suitable for banana. Saline soil, calcareous soil, low laying areas, very sandy & heavy black cotton with ill drainage should be avoided.
