Feather Cactus
Mammillaria plumosa is a distinctive cactus belonging to the Cactaceae family and native to Central Mexico. Popularly known as the Feather Cactus, it is admired for its dense covering of soft white feathery spines that completely conceal the green stem beneath, giving the plant a cloud-like appearance.
This clustering species gradually forms attractive mounds as it produces offsets from the base. During the flowering season, small fragrant flowers in shades of creamy white to pale yellow emerge from the crown of the plant, creating a beautiful contrast against the delicate white spination.
